Dear Students,
Welcome to our Weebly site and our class. I'm so happy to see the returning students and so many new faces!
I began using this site a few semesters ago after completing a technology course. I find this site to be an excellent way of keeping students informed and just staying in touch....with me as well as with your fellow students. In the past, using this site was not mandatory, but using it will not be an option this semester. I want all students to utilize it because I believe doing so is essential to doing well in this program. First of all, it allows students to stay up to date on things we've covered in class. This will be most helpful if you miss a class. I will update the math, reading, writing, science, and social studies pages weekly. Secondly, it provides an avenue for students to stay connected. That can be beneficial when a student wants to share a concern, such as a math issue, or even something as important as sharing good study habits. I firmly believe that students often learn from one another, and keeping abreast of what "works" is often a key to success. I believe that the ways in which we can use Weebly are limitless; perhaps you'll come up with some I haven't even thought of, but it is great to just feel connected outside of class.
Today, I'm going to ask you to respond on this blog page as a means to "introduce" yourself to fellow students. You might want to let us know what you hope to get out of this class, or why you decided to participate in a HSE program. Why did you choose SSC? What are your goals after graduation? Just write three or four sentences or a short paragraph, and try to do so before our first class.
Again, I welcome all of you to the fall semester. I want all of you to achieve your goals and realize your dreams. I will do whatever I can to see you succeed. All I ask is that you share my enthusiasm. Let's make this a winning semester!!!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johnson
