Dear Students,
The temperature outside reminds us that we're in the throes of winter, yet a spring semester always hints at a promise of new beginnings and growth. I welcome you to South Suburban College's Adult Education program and, specifically, the morning/afternoon sessions at the Oak Forest Center. I look forward to your time of growth, new beginnings, and an exciting journey that may take you in some new and remarkable directions. I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be a small part of your exciting journey, and I'm ready to start moving!
I hope you will take this very first assignment seriously by perusing through the pages of our very own website. Weebly provides us a means of staying connected in many ways. We will discuss its possibilities next week during class, but I ask you to acquaint yourself with the pages before our classes actually begin.
Also, I am asking that you leave a comment......a short paragraph or even just a couple sentences......as a means of introducing yourself to me and your fellow students. While a HSE class is traditionally diverse in very obvious ways, I always marvel at the diversity of our students in regard to individual interests. Over the years, I've had the pleasure of teaching some amazing people who are both interesting and talented. What are your interests/talents? What are your short-term and long-range goals? What do you hope to accomplish at SSC and after you have attained your dimploma? Again, a short response is fine. We will have the opportunity to get to know one another next week.
I am so excited to embark on what I know will be a remarkable journey and an amazing time in your life. If you are willing to put forth both the time and effort, I can promise that you that this will be a time of individual growth and personal enrichment. I hope you are excited about the coming months as I am! Welcome to Room 5240! Enjoy looking around our site!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Johnson
